Overview

Reporting to the  Information Technology Business Intelligence Manager, the Data Engineer will work  closely with Shure associates located in North America, Europe and Asia to build, enhance and maintain analytcs solutions to meet the global business needs. Responsible for engineering and supporting data pipelines leveraging Shure technology investments in Snowflake and Informatica.  Data will include structured and unstructured, internal and external, Internet of Things, etc.  This role requires exposure to industry best practices, technology trends, the willingness to learn new emerging technologies, and collaborate with the global team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for data engineering development to connect source systems into Shure’s Snowflake data lake
  • Performing extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources into Shure’s data lake.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business processes and how they affect reporting design and solutions especially SAP ECC and SAP S4.
  • Should have a good understanding of the SAP Functional process but not restricted to Sales and Distribution, Finance, Qulity and Material Management.
  • Should have a good understanding of the business domain data structures and models i.e SAP tables, table relationships and data relationship.
  • Collaborate with business team to understand requirements and convert functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide high quality code deliverables that meet the standards, perform technical validation and support functional and user acceptance testing.
  • Good knowledge and hands on experience with scripting lanhuages like SQL to implement complex data models. Good to have Basic ABAP Skills
  • Provide routine support to business users and functional  teams by resolving user Service Desk tickets and Requests in accordance with agreed upon SLAs.
  • Assist with trouble shooting and data analysis
  • Actively participate as a member of the IT team in activities that include communications, status meetings, Change management process and internal initiatives.
  •  Adhere to general IT processes, procedures and policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or Business discipline or equivalent work experience in a relevant data engineering area.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with enterprise data data warehouse and platforms, building and managing data lakes and using big data technologies.
  • Proficient in Snowflake technology platform. Experience with solutioning on Snowflake infrastructure using services like Snowpart, Open Flow, Snowflake Notebooks, Snowsight and Dashboards.
  • Prior experience in working with structured data in an ERP and data warehouse package such as SAP S4,SAP-ECC, Salesforce or SAP-BW.
  • Knowledge and experience on non structured data, no-SQL and proficiency in Python is a plus.
  • knowledge in operational and management reporting including data visualization and reporting technology such as Tableau.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong time management skills.
  • Good problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
